What is DTG?

Print directly onto the garment

DTG, or Direct-to-Garment printing, applies water-based textile ink directly onto a finished garment using advanced digital inkjet technology. Think of it like an industrial inkjet printer engineered specifically for fabric — allowing precise color reproduction, fine detail and on-demand production without preparing screens.

It is especially well suited to complex, full-color artwork while keeping the finished garment flexible and comfortable to wear.

DTG works best on 100% cotton and high-cotton fabric blends. Exact product compatibility depends on the current Snapwear catalog.

How should I prepare a DTG print file?

Use the exact production canvas for your product and placement, prepare artwork at high resolution (300 DPI recommended), work in RGB and use transparency where needed. For the complete setup process, see the DTG artwork guidelines.
